Depend on God
In a world where relationships and circumstances are constantly changing, it is easy to place our hope and confidence in people. While God has blessed us with family, friends, and communities, human beings are imperfect and limited. True peace and security come when we place our ultimate trust in God rather than in people.
People Change
Human nature is constantly evolving. A person who supports us today may think differently tomorrow. Friendships, opinions, and commitments can change over time due to personal experiences, ambitions, or circumstances. Building our entire confidence on people can lead to disappointment when they change. God, however, never changes. His character, promises, and love remain constant through every season of life.
People Cheat
Not everyone is trustworthy. Sometimes people break promises, deceive others, or act in their own self-interest. Betrayal can leave deep emotional wounds and shake our confidence. But God is always faithful. He keeps His promises and never deceives those who trust in Him. His faithfulness provides a firm foundation when human trust fails.
People May Be Unavailable
Even the most caring individuals cannot always be present. Distance, responsibilities, illness, or unforeseen circumstances may prevent them from helping us when we need them most. God, however, is always available. He hears every prayer, sees every struggle, and is present at every moment. We never have to wait for His attention because He is always near.
People May Be Unwilling
There are times when people have the ability to help but choose not to. Their own fears, priorities, or limitations may stop them from extending a helping hand. This can be discouraging, but God is never unwilling to care for His children. He invites us to cast our burdens upon Him and assures us of His love and compassion.
People's Priorities May Be Different
Every individual has unique goals and responsibilities. What is important to us may not be important to someone else. As a result, we may feel neglected or misunderstood when others place different priorities above our needs. God, however, understands our hearts completely. His plans are perfect, and He works for our ultimate good, even when we cannot see the full picture.
Put Your Trust in God
Depending on people alone can lead to frustration because human beings are limited and imperfect. While we should appreciate and value the relationships God gives us, our deepest trust should be placed in Him. God is faithful, unchanging, ever-present, and always working for our good.
When we rely on God through prayer, faith, and obedience, we find strength that does not fail, peace that surpasses understanding, and hope that remains secure regardless of life's uncertainties.
Conclusion
Life teaches us that people may change, cheat, become unavailable, be unwilling to help, or simply have different priorities. These realities remind us not to build our foundation on human strength alone. Instead, let us anchor our hearts in God, whose love never fails and whose faithfulness endures forever. Trusting in God does not eliminate life's challenges, but it gives us confidence that we are held by One who will never leave us nor forsake us.
